Through consultation, RCS helps organizations reach their stated cultural proficiency goals by creating and executing
customized solutions that addresses current cultural issues. Our Consulting Services Include:
1. Cultural Proficiency Assessment: The Initial Client Evaluation
Our initial consultation
is an important part of us understanding your organization and its mission! It will consist of an on-site visit with your
organization’s leadership: Recruiting Manager, COO/Executive Director, Assistant Director, Inclusion Coordinator, and
any other professional that your organization believes will be critical in discussing issues of inclusion.
Throughout
our meeting, we will seek specific information, which will help create a Current Cultural
Proficiency Profile for your organization. This Profile will form the starting point for assessing both the effectiveness
and potential impact of current cultural proficiency initiatives.
2. Cultural Proficiency Initiative Creation and Execution
The cultural proficiency
initiative or (Action Plan) will be an institution's way of internally outlining their path to the fulfillment of cultural
proficiency goals, and externally informing current & potential employees and the community at large, that cultural proficiency
is an important issue.
This model will need an organization’s long-term commitment to addressing issues of organizational
cultural proficiency.
3. Cultural Awareness Days
RCS Cultural Awareness Days are one-day events which energize and stimulate multicultural thinking and dialogue
within your organization. The day involves a presentation and facilitation of workshops by your RCS consultant(s).
4. On-Site Cultural Proficiency Coordinator
The On-On-site Cultural Proficiency
Coordinator Program is a comprehensive and focused cultural proficiency action plan (C.P.C) designed by RCS Cultural proficiency
Consultants and your organization. The purpose of the C.P.C is to address and execute on the relevant issues of cultural proficiency
raised by the organization’s executive administration, relevant staff, and committees. The following is a typical year's
outline of the DAP.
-
A RCS Consultant will consult with an organization-based committee comprised of individuals
from the organization; group or institution to develop a cultural proficiency initiative, based on the client’s needs
and wants. The actual writing of the final plan will be done by the selected committee based on the RCS consultant's input.
(If the organization does not already have a written cultural proficiency initiative.)
-
The RCS consultant will engage the members of the organization in serious dialogue to
ensure that there is a solid understanding of the organization’s concern and commitment to fairness and equity.
-
The RCS consultant will consult with members of the staff and administration with regard
to coordinating methods, which will make all members of, the community feel more connected to the organization.
-
The RCS consultant will help find speakers and recommend other appropriate resources,
which will educate the entire organization, group, institution or community. Where appropriate, speakers may be brought to
on-site to meet with various parts of the organizations community. (Staff training sessions/workshops)
-
RCS Cultural proficiency Consultants will be contracted to initiate an employment search
for the following organization year to provide candidates of color/culturally diverse backgrounds for consideration by the
COO/ Executive Director / Hiring Team. (This process typically occurs in the winter and concludes in the spring)
-
The appointed RCS consultant will be on on-site six days every three months in two or three day blocks. Expenses will
be covered while on on-site. To ensure that the time that consultants are present is best utilized, careful planning on and
off site will occur in advance in collaboration with key administrators.
We have programming and services and provide consultation in
